Should I Get An Abortion?

“Should I get an abortion?” Most women do not desire, plan for, or anticipate asking this question. Sometimes, however, life doesn’t fall into place exactly as planned.

We understand unplanned things happen in life, and every woman’s situation is unique. It’s not easy.

That’s why we’re here. For compassion, empathy, information, and practical help, we invite you to visit Avenue Women’s Center for support in making your best pregnancy decision. If you are in the Chicagoland area, you can reach us by phone, text, email, or chat. Many of our services are free of cost. We are standing by to respond with the assistance you need.

Abortion is a physical procedure, but there are emotional, relational, social, and perhaps spiritual dimensions to it as well. The decision-making process should include both rational and emotional components. Because your final determination is one that can’t be reversed once it’s enacted, it’s important for both head and heart to be part of the process, in as well-balanced a manner as is possible – thinking of the future as well as the present.

No one should try to pressure you; the decision needs to be yours. We recognize that women who are asking “Should I get an abortion?” are often sorting through input from a boyfriend, a parent, or other family and friends. Talking about this input with a neutral, trained client advocate helps many women see their situations more clearly.

Avenue Women’s Center offers a neutral, supportive, and confidential environment for anyone asking “Should I get an abortion?” We believe that after examining all the options for unplanned pregnancy, women are empowered to make a decision they will feel peaceful about. This is what we want to offer you. We have four offices in DuPage County: Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn / Lombard, Naperville, and Wood Dale, Illinois. We hope you will contact us today.
